Your concerns are part of the treatment plan at RoA Dental Studio.

We offer nitrous oxide and minimal oral sedation for eligible adult patients who need extra help managing dental anxiety. Before recommending either option, we consider your health history, medications, concerns, and planned procedure.

What Is Sedation Dentistry?

Sedation dentistry uses medication to reduce anxiety during dental care. With the options available at RoA Dental Studio, you remain conscious and able to respond to our team. Sedation helps manage anxiety, but it does not replace local anesthesia when numbing is needed.

Who May Benefit from Sedation Dentistry?

Sedation may be helpful if you have significant dental anxiety, a strong gag reflex, difficulty becoming comfortable in the dental chair, or a longer treatment appointment. It is not appropriate for everyone. Before recommending sedation, we review your medical history, current medications, previous experiences with sedation, and other factors that could affect your safety.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation (Laughing Gas)

Nitrous oxide is a mild inhaled sedative delivered with oxygen through a small mask placed over your nose. The amount can be adjusted throughout treatment. You remain awake and responsive, but many patients feel calmer and more at ease. After treatment, oxygen is administered and the effects generally fade quickly. Before you leave, our team will confirm that you have recovered appropriately and review any activity or transportation instructions.

Minimal Oral Sedation

Minimal oral sedation uses prescribed medication to reduce anxiety before dental treatment. Take the medication only as directed by RoA Dental Studio. You will remain conscious and able to respond, although you may feel drowsy and your coordination and judgment may be temporarily affected. You must arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home and follow the recovery instructions provided by our team.

Choosing the Right Comfort Option

Your safety comes first. We will listen to your concerns, review your health information, and explain whether nitrous oxide, minimal oral sedation, or treatment without sedation is the most appropriate choice. Sedation is offered only when clinically appropriate and after informed consent.
